Premier League

The PL started with Wolves going up against Crystal Palace in which they won 2-0 against a 10 man Palace. Then, Chelsea thrashed Burnley 3-0 with Hakim Ziyech scoring one and assisting one. Man City defeated a Sheffield United side 1-0 who are yet to win a game this season. A flying West Ham side came crashing down in a disappointing but expected 2-1 defeat to Liverpool. Ralph Hassenhuttl’s Southampton side beat Aston Villa 4-3. Jack Grealish’s late inspiration could not bring Villa close enough. Everton suffered their second defeat of the season with against Newcastle as they lost 2-1. Arsenal won 1-0 against Manchester United with Aubameyang’s penalty being the difference.

Bundesliga

Schalke started off the weekend with a 1-1 win against Stuttgart. Then, Andre Hahn inspired Augsburg to a 3-1 win against FSV Mainz. Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1-1 against Werder Bremen. Defender Mats Hummels scored a rare brace and thus led Dortmund to a 2-0 win against Bleifeld. Gnabry and Muller were on target in a 2-1 Bayern Munich win against Koln. This win took Bayern to the top of the table. RB Leipzig lost their top position after their 1-0 loss to Monchengladbach.

La Liga

In Spanish football, goals from Negredo and Ponce helped Cadiz win 2-0 against Eibar. Eden Hazard finally scored a goal after a year to help Real Madrid thrash Huessca 4-1. Athletic Club beat Sevilla 2-1 with goals from Munian and Sancet. Portugese Star boy Joao Felix was on target twice as Atletico beat Osasuna 3-1. A Griezmann Penalty helped Barcelona avoid a defeat against 10-man Alaves and they drew 1-1. Silva, Jose and Oyarzabal were all on target as Real Sociedad beat 10-man Celta Vigo 4-1.

Serie A

The Italian football top flight started with Atalanta winning 2-1 against Crotone. A late comeback form Inter with goals from Brozovic and Perisic helped avoid a defeat against Parma. The game ended 2-2 but is a huge block to Inter’s title hopes. Rivals AC Milan, however, extend their stay at the top of the table. Then, a returning Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace to inspire Juventus to a 4-1 win against Spezia. Lazio beat Torino 4-3 in a game of many goals. Then, Manuel Locatelli and Maxime Lopez upset Napoli as Sassuolo won 2-0. Roma bested Fiorentina 2-0 but Genoa and Sampdoria drew 1-1.
